Respiratory Health Capacity-Building and Advancing Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Diagnosis and Care in Kenya and East Africa

Since July 2024, BCH pulmonary team has been partnering with the Pan African Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Research Network, the Leo Project and the Caitlin O’Hara Community Health Clinic in Nanyuki, Kenya has strengthened respiratory care in Laikipia County through virtual education, QI methodology, clinical care, as well as hands-on training at the clinic, encompassing topics from respiratory distress and asthma to CF and QI methods. The BCH team participated in pediatric and adult clinic visits for patients and conducted several trainings to facilitate spirometry implementation and acute respiratory distress and failure management.
