Improving cystic fibrosis care in Jordan: Beyond the International Mentoring Training Initiative

Since 2023, our Boston Children’s Hospital led partnership has strengthened Jordan’s Cystic Fibrosis (CF) care infrastructure through multidisciplinary team creation, QI methodology education, data and research capacity building, advocacy to improve diagnosis, treatment and quality of life, as well as access to CF specific therapeutics to improve morbidity and mortality for people with CF. Partnering with the Jordan Ministry of Health, Middle East CF Association, Jordan University, and multiple Jordanian Hospitals, the BCH pulmonary team conducts community outreach and education and conducts studies for improving and advancing diagnostic testing.  The BCH team and their Jordanian partners  work closely together to improve diagnostic and treatment processes and to advocate for this underserved population with an unnecessarily low survival curve.
