Global Pediatric Innovation Scholars Program
In an effort to better support and collaborate with our global partners, the MCRGHP developed the BCH Global Pediatric Innovation Program, an initiative to support partners in designing and implementing a project to improve pediatric clinical care or medical education in their home institutions. We are guided by principles of centering work on patients and families, supporting partner institution priorities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary, interprofessional teams.
OBJECTIVES:
- Bidirectional sharing of clinical and education systems
- Networking with content experts for projects. Collaborating among global partners from different countries
-Developing skills in innovation and leadership
Visiting scholars propose an area of focus for their project, ideally working as a multidisciplinary team with up to 3 team members. They are invited for a multi-week visit to BCH to observe BCH clinical or educational areas of relevance, participate in seminars on academic or leadership topics, and to identify potential collaborators and/or mentors. In the following year participants will meet virtually with BCH collaborators for continued mentorship and support towards their goals.Participants are clinicians from a variety of pediatric disciplines (nursing, nutrition, physician) who work in low- and middle-income countries. They all come from institutions that have ongoing partnerships with faculty or nursing staff at Boston Children's Hospital.
